Taking a Break

I wanted to let regular readers know that I’ll be taking a break from blogging for an undetermined amount of time. My creative reservoirs are telling me they need some quiet time to refill. I’m feeling more like reading than writing right now, which should provide some much-needed sustenance, and I’m about to begin a new found-object art series, which is requiring some contemplative time as I work out the details. The Hot Air Quarterly is demanding more time as it grows, and I’m in the process of rewriting my novel, The Listener. Too, my brother-in-law’s death came just as I was about to begin the Crazy Good Fortune installment about the year that Richard and I spent living in Eugene, Oregon, where he and my sister live/d. I just can’t bring myself to write that installment right now. Throw in some health issues, and some other deep concerns in my personal life and the lives of loved ones, and I’m at the low ebb part of the sine curve right now.

I may continue to post notices about various things, such as alerting readers to new issues of The Hot Air Quarterly as well as readings and receptions; or I may feel spurred to write the occasional entry or post the occasional photograph or artwork. But I won’t be posting regularly for now—though I plan to take up again at some point. Thanks so much to everyone who’s come to visit!
